Re: The Cover
I find it quite interesting that there are multiple characters on this.

Yeah, the guy in the middle. His armor looks too cluttered.

Re: The Cover
I would think it would be pretty hard too fight in that stuff. But pretty hard too get injured too, I suppose...
It's interesting seeing a woman in armor too! I can picture women fighting and everything, but I've never pictured one in armor. Except Erowyn (from LotR) .
The guy near the back looks almost like a monk with that hair cut . I wonder who he is...

Re: The Cover
Plate armour is VERY heavy, you ought to be very strong to wear it. Perhaps in the latest days of the development of the armour, it was made a bit lighter, but still, it is very heavy, slows you down and actually, you will be killed almost immediatedly if you are not on a horse. I think the only chance an infantryman to survive with a heavy plate armour on him is to be part of a disciplined and armed with long pikes army.
By the way, it is not really hard to pierce the armour. Even arrows can pierce it.

Re: The Cover
I read that some people would even die of suffacation during battle if it was too warm because the armor was so heavy.
Yes, but it would still be harder to get injured with armor than without.By the way, it is not really hard to pierce the armour. Even arrows can pierce it.

Well, I always thought it was just at the right angle they could, like if they get to where there is just chain male or in between plates of armor.

I don't know much about armor, but I do know that plate armor is heavy, and I know I wouldn't want to be wearing it when I was fighting! As for chain mail...I think different types can be stronger than others. Like, the different metals could make a huge difference, as could the size of the rings that the chain mail is made from.

Re: The Cover
Has anyone else noticed the "fireworks" in the background? Interesting...and maybe a bit out of place? I also see a lot of birds at the bottom. Death ravens? Probably not, but just to be on the safe side I'm reading this book in the light of day! (Nothing creeps me out more than a scary bird! Except maybe clowns... Creepy!)
lol! I thought so too!

Cool, huh? There also seems to be a sort of tower in the left-hand corner.
